UPCOMING EVENTS

SCCDC Women’s Caucus advocates for policies that address gender disparities, actively support the political engagement of women, and recruits members to ensure the club better represents the diversity of Santa Clara County. All who identify as women are welcome to join the caucus. All members of our community are welcome to attend our public events.

SCCDC elections are just around the corner in November and we are hoping to elect a board that looks like Santa Clara County and which includes equal representation of women (the current board does not). If you join as a member of the SCCDC now, you can vote and participate in the selection of the club's leaders. Please contact us for more info.

I Am Evidence Film Viewing & Panel Discussion

THANKS TO THOSE WHO WERE ABLE TO JOIN US!

This film exposes the alarming number of untested rape kits in the US bringing much needed attention to the disturbing pattern of how the criminal justice system has historically treated sexual assault survivors. We join the film producers to seek to send a clear message to survivors that they matter, that we as a nation must do everything possible to bring them a path to healing and justice, and that their perpetrators must be held accountable for their crimes.

EVERY SURVIVOR DESERVES JUSTICE

COMPREHENSIVE REFORM REQUIRES ADVOCATES LIKE YOU

TAKE ACTION
The nationwide backlog of untested rape kits allows rapists to get away with their crimes and, in many cases, to rape again. Rape kit testing may not solve all rape cases, but it has the ability to move more of them forward. National studies have shown that cases in which a rape kit was collected, tested, and contained the offender’s DNA were significantly more likely to move forward in the criminal justice system than cases in which there was no rape kit collected or there were no rape kit test results. We must eliminate this backlog. We must give survivors the justice they deserve. We must hold perpetrators accountable. The stakes are simply too high. So what can you do?
